Factoring Trinomials Using the X Method | Factor by Grouping Strategy

In this lesson, we learn how to factor trinomials using the X method — a systematic process for factoring when the leading coefficient is not 1. After rewriting the middle term based on the X method, we apply factor by grouping to complete the factorization. This method is especially helpful when guess and check becomes tedious, or when factoring more complex trinomials.
